Personal Pledge to the People of Manhattan Beach
Dear
Manhattan Beach Resident,
Thank you for the opportunity
to serve as your Mayor and Council Member the last four years. I am running for
re-election and again ask for your vote and support.
I am a 21 year resident, local
business owner and have a proven track record with council experience as
outlined below.
SOUND FINANCES

Served as City Finance Sub
Committee Member and maintained City
Council budget

Over $14 million in
reserves for any emergency or contingency (as of 12/1/2008)

Sustained AAA credit rating
(by three main rating agencies); one of only three CA cities
IMPORTANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Residential Construction Officer – provides relief from
construction problems

Parking
– Permit Program near Mira Costa & around downtown to
protect residents

Mansionization - Limited Lot Mergers; encouraged remodels and
increased open space

Environment - Passed Plastic Bag Ordinance, Waived fees for
installation of solar panels, hired Environmental Programs Manager & started
Environmental Task Force

Seniors - Hired Full Time Older Adult Program Supervisor &
added substantial funding for new programs including a weekly lunch program

MBUSD
- Approved emergency payment of $520K; supported Measure
BB and continued to work and meet regularly with the School Board

When re-elected, I will continue to provide independent,
common sense leadership, remain accessible and visible, protect our beaches and
ocean, increase programs for our seniors, support our outstanding schools and
maintain the unique atmosphere of our city.
There
is no substitute for experience!
